The current collection The German Pfadfindermuseum®?

is located in the attic of the track book publishing house in Baunach on an area of approx. 120 m2. It is now believed to contain around 40,000 books, magazines and other Scout-related items, as well as several thousand badges and other memorabilia.

About the museum

You can find out the detailed history of the museum and its exhibition on our sightseeing tour.
The German Scout Museum sees its tradition
The core tasks as a museum are collecting, preserving, researching and communicating about all aspects of the scout and youth movement in Germany. Another core museum task, “exhibiting,” is just as important as “communicating,” but has so far only been possible to a limited extent.

“Documentation” supported by systematic research should be encouraged. All material should therefore be made available for research purposes.

The aim is to create a long-term institutional and financial basis for an independent museum with a mission statement and museum concept that is led by a committed museum management and qualified staff.

Study Oss Kröher

Oss Kröher, the well-known Palatinate folk singer, bequeathed us his entire original study with his entire songbook collection.

Two other special features of the museum are the Helm König, Hinrich Jantzen and Helmut Klum collections, a very extensive Jamboree collection with badges and magazines, and an almost complete collection of all Boy Scout stamps issued worldwide.
